I think that MC is so afraid to give advice to others and is generally hold back, because of his past trauma. I think that before when he was streamer he was giving advices and one time he couldn't help someone and that person committed suicide or it was his close friend and he failed to notice his problems in time.

Doesnt help that the average manga makes it seem like the council puts in more work than the teachers sometimes.

Fuck, they make it look like they put in more work than a good chunk of the public and private teachers I've meet irl.

@Ixiaz well, not all are that crazy though. You can have something like Sekijou from BokuBen which is rather tame and generally very supporting for her target of affection to be in a relationship but this one is straight hostile.
