@Kampfarsch It's probably just the art-style combined with the fact that the author is trying to make her more instantly repulsive. I mean, we see burns and scars quite often in manga but the truth is it's hard to convey through a black and white drawing how gross such scars/burns may look.
I am interested in this because of the title. I am interested to see how someone that has it as bad as her can find happiness again.
@Kampfarsch
I remember some photos circulating of a young burn victim and her facial reconstruction...
I've been used to the Hollywood-portrayal of extensive burn scars, so seeing actual, real scars like that really shocked me. So how the artist depicts the character's scars felt more realistic to me.
I won't link to the picture I mentioned, so google Zubaida Hasan. Just... steel yourself immensely.
@Ice_Leaf yooo looks like that really is what it would look like you are right
still dont know why she got those holes all over her
That zubaida girl turned out really well tho damn
also the doctor in the story is a pathetic excuse for a doctor cause what she needed is to be referred to a psychotherapist or to be referred to cognitive behavioral therapy as what she needs are supportive people who can help regulate and rebuild her coping mechanisms and support systems as she has an inability to regulate and balance her fears
