200 iq update.
The aggregator sites gets wrong chapter
and Mangadex readers gets an update.
I don't mind if you do this instead of delayed chapter. Just change it back to correct chapter after a day (or however long your delay is) for other mangadex readers.
Because on the follows tab you only get a chapter update when the chapter is available to read here. The only way to get updated when it's available on their site is through discord. And i'm not gonna join every discord server for manga updates.
Drama? We're uploading so that other aggregate sites don't have access to the chapters besides MD. Furthermore, this isn't anything new; numerous other scan groups have done the same thing.
If you feel so inclined to report this chapter as well (as you had mentioned on Ch. 20) feel free to do it; it's understandable. However, if you have the patience to wait for a little over 30 minutes, we'll upload these two chapters and hopefully many more in the future. We do this to not only garner more followers ourselves but to also encourage those who read on aggregates to explore the other official scanlation groups who work their hardest for little/no profit.
The delay is at most just 1 hour, the bots on the aggregate sites take around 30-50 minutes to pick up new chapters. and once I've seen that they have scraped it, I am uploading the real chapter here.
Of course, not every single aggregate group uses bots to rip chapters from MD- however, the majority do. Kiss Manga actually does work in investing their own manual time to the more popular chapters to upload it to their site. What we're trying to discourage are aggregate sites that do little to no work by ripping chapters through bots and automatically uploading it to their site, all the while profiting from advertisement views. Hell, at least sites like Kiss Manga use their own fingers to download + upload it on their site.
@Ebsolas
Kissmanga has our website in their botlist and they have humans viewing the chapters so stuff like this doesn't happen to them.
@core_nxt
That's not the same to what we're doing, Mangadex delay is a full-fledged delay that blocks everyone apart from group members from viewing the chapter, which means not even bots can scrape it. As aggregate sites don't edit chapters they stay stuck with what they initially scrape, hence we're changing to the original chapter once that happens.
@BasePlay
It doesn't mean they check the site manually. The bot probably scrapes multiple sites and checks file size. Extreme discrepancies probably get rejected automatically while multiple will flag manual review.
It also wouldn't be unusual for scrapers to require manual reviewing before upload.
Your best bet are watermarks and randomizing link url's (not having site.com/manganame/chapter1) with links to next chapter redirecting you to a non-standard bot checker.
You can make failed checks link back to random chapter to make it look legit to random people reviewing
