I Swear I Won't Bother You Again! - Vol. 1 Ch. 2

I like Violette and Maryjun so far. Vio is trauma handled fairly well (again, fuck her father for ruining her) and Maryjun is naive, but she is new to the whole aristocrat thing so unless she keep up the naivete without learning anything for the rest of the manga I think I'm still ok with her now.

Need more Yulan and that new guy is interesting too
 
For those curious, chapter 2 of the manga has extremely roughly covered 32/62 chapters of the currently ongoing WN. It's skipped around and condensed a huge amount of material and a lot of the scenes seem to have been rewritten entirely and even retooled to take place at different times. It's been mentioned before that the manga is way more lighthearted than the WN and it's very true as Violette is downright depressed most of the time. IMO the manga is way more coherent than the WN in a lot of ways and I think I prefer the manga overall.

For those wondering just how messed up Violette's home life is...

Violette's mom forced her dad to marry her because the mom was crazy in love. The dad proceeded to ignore the mom since he hates her. The mom gives birth to Violette hoping to get the dad's attention. The dad proceeds to ignore his daughter. The mom then decides to pretend Violette is her dad and dresses her up and trains her as a boy. The mom proceeds to molest Violette while pretending Violette is her dad. This ends when Violette hits puberty and her mom can't pretend anymore. Her mom grows ill and then eventually dies, still pining for Violette's dad. Her dad continues ignoring her. Enter Maryjun who has a loving mother and gets her dad's love without question, all while Violette continues getting neglected and whatnot. Violette grows super depressed and then eventually breaks, leading to the beginning of the story.

Given the overall tone of the manga, I have to wonder how much of the darker stuff the manga is willing to go into since some of that is pretty messed up.

WN is still in progress and thus far both Claudia and Yuran are in the running. Claudia shows a lot of interest and makes awkward advances, but Violette has already given up and doesn't notice. Yuran is trying to get closer (and shows a lot of yandere traits tbh) but Violette sees him a lot like a younger brother so he's having trouble. Violette has had moments with both, but was noted by her maid Marin to be especially happy after spending time with Yuran on a not-a-date sort of thing (shortly before her father came in and made her depressed again). There's also the extremely loyal Marin herself who's a bigger character in the WN and is strongly hinted at being in love with Violette, but that's unlikely to go anywhere and only gets mentioned from Marin's PoV.

IMO the story is pushing very strongly towards Yuran, but in all honesty the story hasn't progressed very far at all. More importantly, Violette herself is still very depressed and would need some help before she's in a state where she can properly think about romance. As of the most recent chapters Violette's primary concern is getting amazing grades so her father doesn't have another excuse to bad mouth her when compared to Maryjun who apparently has main character cheat level stats and will get top marks in her grades without too much effort.
 
No no no no. Fuck off douche prince. Yulan ship and solitude/nun ship are the current best options.
 
What I'm gathering from the Prince's comment is that he either knew Violette's mother, or also has memories of the first "playthrough".
 
"We've known each other since we were young." and "We don't know each other well enough for small talk." confuses me.
 
I'd like to think about it being as People who have gone to the same school and class for years but never talked casually or even had anything beyond a nod/hello/bye (if that's even required in the situation).
Basically not even acquantainces?
 
ok first of, why a nun? just take some of your family's riches and go live a normal life, open a restaurant or a farm or something. there's no reason you have to become a nun.

secondly why are you trying to be nice to the whore's daughter? you should still hate her just as much, it's one thing to not bully her but you are actively being nice and calling her sister, what's that about? you're totally ok with your "father" abandoning you for a whore and having a child with her and them all living happily ever after while you wallow in sorrow? this seems incredibly forced.
 
@Wilhelm_Stenvall What exactly did the Prince do wrong? She just straight was a villain in her last life. He treated her like such. He appears to also have went back in time though and has realized she is different now, so he's adjusting his treatment of her.

The only reason most people seem to have a strangely misplaced hatred for a lot of these characters seems to be because who the protagonist is. Pitiful as intensification was in her last life, she earned the punishment she eventually received and she even accepts that now. People also seem to have hatred for the sister as well. What wrong did she do? Being born? Almost being murdered by her half sister and still standing up for her?
