I think it might be looking creepy because the author has trouble drawing young faces. Or just drawing toddlers in general.
Irene is said to be 3 years old, but her facial feature always look like she is at least 9-12 (or even older very occasionally). Her proportions also look like she’s 8-9 rather than 3 years old.

@Yunefia Well... since his son have a 12y old appearance when he is 495y old, I think 10 or 20 years are for them, equivalent of a week or a month for us, his sentence isn't wrong taken like this...

When he'll be 3000 and her 2500, the difference will become irrelevant.

Maybe when Irene becomes an adult in like 15-20 years, the dragon kid would magically get a growths spurt within that time frame

However, if you look at it linearly, him being 500 years old (if you round it up) while only looking and behaving like a 10ish-year-old child

it would mean that, for him to reach a mature age of let's say 20 years old in human terms, he would need to age at least 500 more years.

Also, I wonder how will Irene age physically? Cause iirc she's like half angel and half demon right? Would she age normally like a human or once she is of age, she stops growing old?
