Ichigeki - Vol. 4 Ch. 26 - The eve of the raid

@boldmonkey Just a heads-up: we scanlate this series by volumes, and volume 5 isn't out in Japan yet. We took quite a long time to scanlate this volume, and the upside is that in contrast from the time between volumes 3 and 4 (readers had to wait half a year), the next volume will probably be out soon.

@Kendama Thanks. Is the next volume the last one? Feels like the series is ending but that just might be because this whole time they're fighting only the Satsuma and it looks like the endgame is near.

Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double

Damn, this is real gem of manga. After putting it on hold for a few months I decided to tackle it in one sitting, the main protagonist had a similar vibe with the main protagonist from Alice from Hell.

The only thing that bothers me is how Ushi behaved with Sono (the prostitute.) It's like he either forgave her or forgot about what she did. Why did Imuta go to his village? He knew where it was from before getting info from Sono and wanted revenge. But why did he kill Ushi's sister and his mom? Because Sono told him, Ushi had told her his sister looked just like her... so she is part of the reason why his sister died.
I guess you could say, "Well, maybe he thinks Imuta came to his village and force the villagers to spit out who Ushi's family was," which actually makes more sense, if you didn't know Sono told those things to Imute... but it still pisses me off. I guess that if Ushi knew Imuta was asking about them in several brothels, he would probably piece out the pieces, but he doesn't know. He only knows Imuta liked banging Sono and the Satsuma found out the brothel they always went to...

Turns out the author isn't brave enough to let his sympathetic MC stay consistent in his plunge into darkness.
