The author kinda of forgets about that plot point and the fact that his mother and the old dude is also powerful fighters. Instead the author focuses on MC growth.
Many arcs will go by before the author remembers about that.

it still mystery, but the Headmaster of the Academy has connection with MC's Mother, she knew who MC really is and his mother, and that Sage of Time also has a connection with "MC" in the past... the Seal probably is about MC power, MC is super OP, but on the story he didn't get the access of that power yet (he gradually getting that power tho), so the power he show in this solely from his training, a raw power, without his 'real power' and on sealed state.
it just speculation, but the Village where MC coming from probably created solely for MC alone, to make him living 'normally' and hide it from people like Sage of Time
