Ichioku-nen Button o Renda Shita Ore wa, Kizuitara Saikyou ni Natteita - Vol. 2 Ch. 8.1

@jokerxhisoka Just talking with people that read similar series, get announcements when chapters are out, ask the people working on it why they're being lazy fucks, etc. Most people just lurk and wait for new chapters to be released.

@HDMI1 It wasn't just MC since Rose also used her own style with the sword draw, so I'm guessing either the "can't use your own techniques" was wrongly translated or author or artist completely forgot about that rule immediately after writing it.

@HDMI1 I checked the novel to make sure I wasn't messing up, and it said the same thing. Unless it's explained in the novel that the techniques he uses are from actual schools, it's literally a nonsensical line or he simply ignored it and the teacher didn't call him out on it.

Apparently,there will also be yukatas and shrines acc to novel,not sure whether they ll show it hear tho

A classic harem manga with swords. I LOVE IT! From the style to the story its so general as much as unique.

@Shiden they actually aren't. You can unsheathe and cut in one move with a longsword as well. THe only difference is that a katana can do it faster because it's curvature helps it slide across the scabbard.
But it is very possible to execute an Iai strike with a longsword.

So really, if you have the drive and the strength for it, you can meet your goals. Want friends? Become driven or strong enough so they gravitate to you. Also don't be a dick.

Makes sense.

@LostCrown Even if one decide to betray Allen, his combat experience is still far superior than anyone else on his class so it won’t really matter since they can’t beat him anyway.

For the people wondering: I think the no techniques applies to the magic-like stuff some of them can do instead of applying their style to the way they try to do the tests

@BookQueen asked: "is he insane?" He spent at least 100 Million Years in isolation practicing swordsmanship so... yes?

In terms of character arcs,
this is actually a fairly good resolution for Allen, though as the main character there might start a new one to carry forward into the unresolved plot issues (barring the story getting axed of course). That said, the "always wanted a peaceful school life" seems wierd to me for someone that is going to a school specifically for swordsmanship and combat. Complaining at being challenged doesn't fit so much, but maybe there's something lost in translation. Rather than a "peaceful school life" he clearly wants comrads and friends, and I suppose that's what a "peaceful school life" can mean for some people... but the complaints about having to fight in a martial school is... wierd to me.

@Takoyama: I think so yes,
essentially it meant Ria couldn't use "Black and White" and "Spiritual Magic" to assist her for example. But pure swordsmanship which is (apparently) what Allen and Rose seem to use would be fine in terms of "techniques".

[despite spending hundred million years practicing sword, he still lose a fight to one guy later on, thats what i like about this MC, he is OP but not too OP]
