So his is either patient zero or some kind of lab rat. Maybe he volunteered to do a medical study that went horribly wrong. I still think it's kind of hard to place the blame solely on him. Did he know he was contagious? Or was he even fully conscious at that point or in mindless zombie mode and regains his ability to think and reason like a human when he came across his true love there?
