Ikoku Nikki - Vol. 7 Ch. 34 - page.34

Just when I was thinking about getting something good before sleeping!!! thank you for the update.

The cliffhanger for the singing debut continues but I trust she'll be fine! that part with the cartoon Asa saying that her love for music is uninpresive, that's... probably directly taken from her diary.

Chiyo looks a looot like a young Makio, for a moment I thought it was a flashback, but it seems that she has been through a lot too, also, I can feel it too ,that Asa seems a bit more mature and mindful.

Maybe maturing isn't all about appearing and acting more adult-like. Maybe growing up is simply coming to terms to where you are in life.

That was probably the most positive thing Makio has said about her sister in the entire series so far.

Also, I never expected to see a 3 Idiots reference in a Japanese manga in 2020.

I don’t remember chiyo in previous chapter ?? Anyone help me with some numbers..

Also is it just me but she kinda looks like a young Makio

@JKTV same here, I have no memory of this Chiyo girl...I feel like I need to reread this whole thing because it's getting tough to remember what's happening from month to month

@Kyoumades
I think she was one of the people who were introduced when Asa had her first day of high school
I also kinda remember her being one of Asa's background friends a few times after

But damn every time I read a chapter of this I'm reminded again about how much I adore this manga and meaningful it is to me

Chiyo is the one who wanted to get to med school, but got depressed because of the news about the universities lowering female applicants' grades (Chapter 32).

This chapter was still excellent. Could our Asa be maturing a bit???

@JKTV chiyo gets some screen time walking with asa and emiri to school in ch 29.

@useless i think that is someone else, the chiyo in ch 32 has a different family name and also the one in asa's year wouldnt be taking med school entrance exams yet. this was wrong.

Thank you for the chapter!

@bdenra You're right, she appears in ch29, too! However, I think it's the same Chiyo than the one mentioned in ch32. In ch 29, Chiyo says that she wants to go to med school to be a doctor (page 15), and the girl in ch32 talking about her doesn't say that she's a third year taking entrance exams, just that she got "broken" because of the news and stopped coming to school. This is actually how I made the connection, since Chiyo mentions in this chapter that she "took off from school" and that she's "not okay". As for family names, the guy calls her Morimoto in ch32, and I think Chicchi in ch29 is supposed to be a nickname, like how she calls Emiri "Emily".

Maybe I'm mistaken though, but this feels too deliberate...

Didnt expect a 3 idiots reference, as a person who doesn't watch many Indian movies its easily my favorite one.

Thanks for the chapter. It’s great as always.

And thank you everyone else for clearing up the Chiyo thing. I was scratching my head as well.

Thanks for the chapter. Good chapter.
A lot of really good things were covered, especially about what you can write in a diary.
Like
>things that aren't said
>things you want to say
etc.
the constant feet in the last couple of pages gave the feeling that you might have these worries but you have to keep walking
then that final line of living and worrying about living was great.
@Darklight99
>Also, I never expected to see a 3 Idiots reference in a Japanese manga in 2020.
Yeah me either, came out of left field.

Thanks for the chapter. Like others here, never expected to see 3 Idiots reference in manga in 2020. Who haven't seen it, do give it a try.

Sometimes I do feel inconsequential and petty with my own worries but that's just being alive means, right.
