We've been talking about Asa's growth recently, how she's trying to understand instead of thinking that something is just wrong or abnormal, she's more open now and thinking hard about lots of stuff (she still lacks confidence) But wow this is going to be a HUUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE test for that, I hope she can handle it... and as for Emiri, I'm glad she's still best friends with her because you know, with she having a girlfriend and the thoughtless words Asa might've said, I was afraid they would drift apart, but she cares very much about her and feel that she needs to tell her, even if she is not obligated to do it.

8 volumes in and I can't believe I've never said this, I really love how the story is told through random streams of consciousness flowing in between multiple characters. I wouldn't even know how a director would adapt this into a non-manga format.

I honestly love the two main characters, they seem so fleshed out and flawed and full of contradictions. and I really liked Emiri initially, but lately the way Emiri has been portrayed has been like a flawless person who has no contradictions, always makes the right moral decisions and whose only defining characteristic is that she is a lesbian. I really hope that Emiri’s character and her interactions is much more than merely a coming out trope, which is important, but certainly shouldn’t make her an “interesting” character in itself. I just hope sensei takes the “coming out” or “keeping secret” plot in a more unexpected direction, much in the way that she has handled the mourning and family plots. In any case, thank you again for the translation!!
