Dude that was the most stupid reason to not acknowledge yourself a hero.

It’s one thing if you address gender inequality will lead you to not being accepted.

But “oh I can’t be a hero cause I have to take care of my younger brother cause we were orphaned at a young age” is so fucking lazy. From normal long term thinking, as a hero the kingdom or the church should be able to take care of your family. It’s not guaranteed but it’s a super safe bet though.

Nothing against the character, but that was just bad script writing. It could have literally been written any other way.

But yeah, I kept laughing almost the entire chapter. And tho I do think she's capable to be the heroine, I'm going to be honest with something else: if I were a citizen from that kingdom I would feel extremely anxious about putting mine and the fate of hundreds of people in the hands of an unprepared "hero". Let's see how the story develops and if it's worth buying it or not (as long as it has the furigana system )

I don't know if it was because he kept holding onto her arm every chance he got or if it is just me, but i've grown to seriously dislike that asshat of a prince. Do the authors of works like these like men being possessive and doing their bidding at any cost to make women submit? This chapter was midly infuriating cuz that guy kept holding her all the time, and it made me gasp and made me angry more than once.

It's pretty funny how desperate she is not to become a hero. Gotta admit, it's a high stress, thankless job that'll get you killed sooner or later. For starters it means lots of battles with demons with risk of death until reach and kill the demon lord like an assassin. Then the kingdom will want to tie the hero to the royal family with a marriage both for the good publicity and so hero part of the family. After all, hero is someone able to fight and beat the demon lord so last thing is want them to either go against the royal family or become part of a foreign country's military might. Then there's the noble and castle politics which might try to poison or smear the hero's name to eliminate a potential threat if can't get the hero under their thumb before, during or after defeating the demon lord.

Btw, this is just my opinion but I bet that ominous feeling the prince felt was either the birth of a demon lord, some demon leveling up into the demon lord, or some poor demon just trying to survive is suddenly chosen/cursed/possessed by some power or whatever makes a demon lord a demon lord and being driven homicidally insane from it.

She is essentially insulting the Goddess of her world, a hero comes before Calamity but screw that I need to be a maid.

And the freaking differences in her actions-> In one she worried because she sat on the prince but a few pages later this crazy bitch is grabbing him by the collar and swing the HOLY SWORD around like a freaking toy.
