@Azapuela judging from all the screams, the transformation probably hurt a great deal, like Aileen stealing the Sword, and he's depressed that she saw him in that form. So he was probably just waiting to be stabbed, wanting to die, or the sword suppresses all monsters, while also burning the ones that get close.

I think the repercussions are fine. He lost the chance to become king, his entire goal. If Aileen wanted to go on a war path, she could've. She could've destroyed the royal family's reputation and start a civil war. But the citizens would never be happy with a throne taken by force. This way, they can 'peacefully' take the throne in exchange for her silence.
