I don't understand why MC keeps pink haired girl as his wife. She spend time with him in order to make him into slave (or just to kill him). After they broke up, she constantly abused him.
Sure, they do have chemistry but I just hate that author writes as if past doesn't exist.
And his reward isn't really reward. He has no need for money. That position would only consume his time.
I fail to understand why Monarch would punish MC for what he did.

@KamiKira00 She keep his D wet and he still has his old persona in love with her. He merged with the him dying with snu snu earlier. So it's not a real broke up it's like a couple dispute like we have nowadays.

I understand that it is just a simple dispute (because now they are together) but simply ignoring EVERYTHING about their relationship just for MC to have a wife is simply bad writing. Extremely bad writing considering that author ignored EVERYTHING.

@KamiKira00 I don’t think the MC actually wants the wife. He never once told the woman “hey, I’m cured!” And has since the very first chapter always been fearful/ hesitant around her.
She’s still much stronger than him, so he plays along where he must play along. This is consistent with his character and how he behaves around everyone else stronger than him too.

@Halesy it would be great if that was true. But given how readers like that and that his is wuxia story, I fear that author will simply forget about it and will continue with that kind of relationship.
In other words, I would be fine if there were some hints on his thought about their relationship but there isn't any(while there is always some inner dialog when he is planning something). So all we can do is assume that he is honest.

He isn't the strongest and each one of those "elders" are more powerful than him. He's probably stuck with her until he reaches the point where he can overpower entire sect by himself.

One could think about it this way: imagine that you ran into a monster in the forest, and said monster tried to eat you alive, because that's what this monster does. Then by application of wit and luck you managed to convince the monster that you're more than food, and you started talking and hit it off. Because when that thing no longer sees you as a walking hamburger, you could talk to it, and realized that it is actually intelligent and has things to say. Something like that. In position of slave, MC was pretty much a human dil... I mean battery to the "pink-haired girL", meaning a thing that needs to be drained and discarded. Learning the cheat abilities allowed him to show that there's more to him, and hence possibility of being treated as more of a person.

@KamiKira00 Ah bro how do you think an attempt divorce would work out with her? like let's be real here, she'd massacre our boy and their relationship from where they started to how they are now, has actually evolved over time as she doesn't just see him as a pretty face and a quick Cultivating buck but rather than a partner and he may not be "in love" but has formed a familiar bound with her.

If I am honest all his rewards from his wife and his master In this chapter seems like a pain and hinderance rather then a reward...being attack like a punching bag seems like she just bumps bits with him forcablely...
And being in charge of a branch managing many people....ughh...part of what it takes already seems like too much tho he would have his own home and space tho?

I agree that both of the supposed rewards are trash considering they would have perished without his plan. They only put him to work more but they are stonger than him so hoepfully he wont have to deal with the wife once hes stronger than her

I think you forgot how he get origin points.
His wife is a steady source of points, specially now that she seems to have some interest on him. Making her angry and jealous while he interact with other woman. Ans she still stronger than him and a threat if not dealt smoothly.
The more people he has ties with (good or bad) the more points he gets.
