I like the tropey foreshadowing.
One of my favorite tropes is the character who is assumed to be WAY more cunning then they actually are with each action viewed as some devious plan to convey hidden meaning when they're just blindly going about things. It looks like we'll be getting that with MC-chan, so I look forward to that.
