Honestly, when the guy put all of the things the Emperor was facing and his decisions, he made the right calls. He really should be given a second chance imo. you can't show public favour for one side or another, that's the same as being bought and that would have endangered his own position.

The problem is that he didn't tell her, didn't entrust her with the information that he's just bait. If he had this wouldn't be such a big deal. I also think he deserves a second chance, but only after reflecting a bit about what he's done.

@Fruitfish - I disagree that he needs to heavily reflect. The female MC knows what type of childhood the Emperor had with his family treating him like he’s non-existent. She should be a little less critical as he did everything to ensure their safety at the foremost. He also apologized didn’t he? At this point I think if anyone, it’s the female MC that needs to do a little self-reflecting and put herself in his shoes whilst knowing it takes him a long time to trust people due to his past.

The fact that Yi yi wants to go back to the palace means that she hasn't quite given up on the emperor afterall. Realistically they really aren't suited for each other and the emperor should know that as well, but this is a shoujo type of story. I also noticed that many readers approved of what Yi yi said in the previous chapters about 'love not being everything', but somehow this same logic can't be applied to the emperor.
