I'm Destined for Greatness! - Ch. 21

How to be a MC, worth being remembered? Be unique! And this MC is more unique then 90% of the other MC's!

Guy really starts arguing with the mc on stage while he’s trying to scam everyone, not the best time honestly

Of all people, Koreans should have known better not to trust a fellow Korean.
In Korean fiction, scamming random people is a virtue.

@dasheek @Halo It's an Asian / Middle East thing, not just a Korean thing (China, Japan, India, all the way west to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and south to the Phillipinnes). In a bit more than half the world, it's is considered a cleverness worthy of respect to scam people. There is no cultural "fool me once, shame on you" principal to be found.

@phil777 Remember that the next time someone tries to tell you "all cultures are fundamentally equal", "you can't judge them - it's their culture", and "you can't 'judge' till you've gone a mile in their shoes".

@ninjadork Joke's on you, I'm an anthropology bachelor graduate. =/ We were told that despite cultural differences, not ALL practices are acceptable, or that you should accept them. Would you assist with a human sacrifice, for example, out of respect for one's culture? (going with the flow is often called "going native" as we call it in the domain) I could list other questionable practices that still persist today under the guise of "tradition". Some of them are actually detrimental to the well-being of the individual or the society on the long term even if they (sometimes) provide an immediate benefit.

It seems a bit like how old merchant ships ''reqruited'' sailors(at least the V.O.C. and W.I.C): go to a bar, search for able bodied men, get them drunk, promise a good job(fortune fame, that sort of stuff), make them sign a contract(a simple X could suffice becasue not many commonfolk could write their name), kidnap them(''legally'' of course), put them in a prison until it is time to board the ship and then force them to enter the ship and work as a sailor.

Scrubs get scammed. Hahaha.😂
Where I am from, the Philippines, we mock the poor sod that gets scammed, openly if we are friends. After a good laugh we try to track the bastard to get back whatever was taken and rough up the scammer on the way of turning them over. We have a kind of community justice mindset here at times.
