I'm Not a Villainess!! Just Because I Can Control Darkness Doesn't Mean I'm a Bad Person! - Vol. 2 Ch. 8

@jujuli97
If it makes you feel better, Claudia's brother punches the dad later on. Although the duke is also trying to use the war to help improve Claudia's reputation - he figures if she can end the war cleanly and be recognised as a hero by the royals, her reputation will rise and less people will smacktalk her.

It's pretty ridiculous how unfairly they treat her. Quite literally, by history, the previous chosen of the dark spirit king aided in creating the very foundation of their kingdom itself, and when they betrayed him they sought their own destruction. Now they expect to do the same because...i don't know? Especially in a time of prospective war? The scariest part of this is that reality is not far from this depiction of incredibly immature and ignorant political leaders.

feel free to disagree but i dont think this is a story about racism. fear and prejudice yes but not racism. and the reason for that fear is due to who bonded with her and their own legend. (im glad someone finally admited it was their own fault)

Oh yeah I remember reading the novel.

She does become a hero and her parents were trying to butter up to her after that, but too little too late. Our heroine is already indifferent to whatever they do.

I would just leave this country. Why stay? With a spirit king you can live anywhere you damn please SMH.

Seems like the roles have reversed on both Amelia and Claudia

Oh. Is this how it is go. then? Sending 2 girls with stands to some politcal war?

Thank you for the translation! Hate the ignorant adults. Thank goodness her friends were there to support/defend her

The novel was a good read, from what I remember. Bit short, like some of these villainess stories tend to be. The ones that aren't korean and drag on for 1-200 chapters anyway.

About the same length as that one where the FeMC wants to immediately 'capture' the demon lord.

Glasses sure did look smug at his idea of sending literal children to the front lines of an impending war. I bet he thought himself a genius on par with sages.

@Jelem I genuinely hate her parents
The author tries to make her mother's effort for reconciliation to be "light and sweet", but for me it just comes off as a "hypocritical, self-important' act. It makes sense why the MC goes along with her mother, since she blames herself for what happened to her family. But yeah, i sympathize with her brother.

Chocolate milk is indeed the best milk😋!!
Thank you for translating!!
What a bunch of idiots!! What saint!! She is clearly a low class villainess!! If something like a saint then.... That would be Claudia!!

Some of the tones in this chapter are all kinds of messed up. Like, whichever assistant did the skirt on page 6 definitely needs retraining.
