I know she's being unreasonable, but if for instance the girl is bound by narrative force into pushing "the protagonists" back together, I actually feel very sorry for her.
Like, "please, you're the only one he'll listen to, I don't want him to leave!" in this sort of situation is exactly from the cringey shounen harem playbook. So as to imply that the harem underling loves the protagonist so much that she'll degrade herself and be satisfied with being a third wheel just to keep him around... Which is supposed to be endearing and heart-wrenching, of course, instead of horrifying and pitiful as it is more-faithfully depicted here XD

Wasn't it enough she heard you out? Be thankful she even listened to you, because I wouldn't if it were me. That's why you gotta be careful who you're generous towards to. Hate it when that happens, makes me blow a fuse
