I don't think he's manipulating her more like he's easing her up to be more open for a relationship with him. He doesn't make her question her decisions or make her confused, in fact he compromises with her so they start as 'fake lovers' at her suggestion (even when we know he wants more than that)

@scarlet_summer That's assuming he's actually in love with her at the moment. Can't rule out the idea that he may be aware that she's the saintess and is just trying to tie her to his side with a marriage contract, or some other convoluted manipulation. Considering he was already watching her in chapter one and commented on how the events were "interesting," I'm not convinced he legit has feelings for her.

You mean the translated into English chapters up to ch 16 or another spoiler area? Bc tbh based off the English translated I read up to ch16, I'm not convinced. Could still just be pretty words and actions he's using to hide the fact he wants to tie her to him for other reasons. Until she finds out he's the demon king and he explains himself or we get a chapter showing his inner monologue I don't 100% trust a word he says
