firstly, he hypnotized the neighbor aunt who introduced him to Miase. Second, he suggested the fake lovers scheme so guys won't come after Maise and only he can approach her. Then later, he will appear on the group date by hypnotizing the participants too

Also I didn't say anything about him manipulating Maise, just him throwing fast balls on her while she deflect it with the power of friend zone.

I don't think he can't really hypnotize Maise, too. Or maybe he just wanted Maise to come to him voluntarily.

In future chapters he goes far and beyond to protect her. For a demon lord to do something like that I don't know how else to describe his behavior other than the fact he's silly in love with her

Also for a demon lord, what he's doing to her is actually pretty tame. I can't wait for the time Maise finds out about his real identity
