@WildGrizzlyBear To be fair his son went from an even bigger loser as seen in his flashbacks, to a god. That all happened within a time frame where he had no contact with him. Unlike all the other idiots who should atleast do some background research before throwing away such claims, his father has every reason to not believe him. The MC should have proven it sure, but he figured his stubborn father needed a little more time.
The MC isn't handling it well. The father is just a regular well meaning man who doesn't understand how horrible people in the cities are and by extension his corrupted in laws. Clearly he hasn't been dealing with the same social circle that requires someone to yell "You seek death!" every 5 minutes.
