Just like the hero and the demonlord "retired", the demon sword and the holy sword retired as well.
They took on human forms and hit it off with each other - married and got a child.
This child of the holy sword and demon sword is now both the new holy sword and the new demon sword - just like the MC is the new hero and the new demonlord.
So this new holy demon sword is the childhood friend.
She just does not know that she is a actually a sword because her parents never told her - just like the MC's parents never told him about it either.

Poor Kana, brought lunch over and got stabbed by two swords flying over to the MC. Then again since the swords are suppose to fly to his hand and can't grasp a blade she might've just gotten slammed by the hilts.
Swords are probably coming to MC, just going to take a while since can't teleport and have to fly a long distance. Likely to show up the most inopportune and ludicrous moment. Although considering Kana is having a reaction to something there is a chance it might be related to one of the sword's due to the timing. Probably not the living incarnation of a sword but would be funny if the hilts of both swords each popped out of one of her breasts for the MC to pull out. Then again could just be feminine intuition that he's getting into a bonding situation with one of her rivals.
