@yldDavid It might be like this just for the heiresses of the important families. The marriages would have a political meaning even if she didn't give birth to a child for every husband. Although if she did have, for example, four husbands, it would be no problem to have four children, unless there are complications. Regular working women probably would only have a single husband just for financial reasons alone. Although if one or more husbands worked as well, she could likely afford more, assuming housing isn't a problem. But I'd still guess the vast majority would go for a single spouse. A lover on the side would always be a possibility with no huge commitments.

Idiot. He's worn out, only partially recovered thanks to a medicinal drink that boosted his energy, and completely forgot to consider that Chiang is rather lazy and does only what she has to while Tang is athletic and pushes herself hard. Just guessing but I bet he wins but hopefully acknowledges that he's been a bit too full of himself and is a little more cautious about underestimating people. Be nice if he's able to offer Tang a special recipe that does what he thinks it's suppose to and beneficial rather than poisonous (or at least poisonous to women.) Seems odd that equal rights for men is so behind that (or at least strong families with history,) can openly have (or insist on someone having) a reverse harem. At least in the US can't have multiple wives/husbands even if religion belong to allows it. Then again, never been to China much less know cultural customs, so does anyone know if China allows someone to have multiple spouses or if stopped at some point?
