It would be better plot if the brother actually went undercover to approach the princess to gather intel but I wouldn't be surprised if the story plays him and princess as secondary couple.

What will happen next?
A. The siblings will run away together, leaving their insecurities about height and figure behind them.
B. Situ Jian will comfort his sister, since he just witnessed her very sad love declaration.
C. Situ Jian will threaten his sister, telling her to man up so she isn't discovered as a woman.
D. The garden-boy is not Situ Jian. He is trying to comfort a poor fellow who is crying his (her) heart out after being cruelly rejected.

D. The garden boy has probably experienced his own fair share of unrequited loves! And he called her older sister since he thinks she is delusional, fancying herself to be a woman.
