Noel is so damn adorable! xD There are often some stories that try too hard to push a mascot or pet into the story, and it ends up being far to out of place with the character, the story's theme or so, but Noel is a perfect fit! X3
Oh, and what's up with the translation? Why indiscriminately turn "-san" and "-dono" into Mister (thus losing a variety of significations and tones) but keep "-kun"? Or is it because it was obvious that translating "Tsubasa Inu-kun" into "winged dog" would lose the entirety of the cuteness and emotions in the wording? But then again, why exactly do so by ignoring the nuances between "-san" and "-dono" and forcefully turn it into "Mister"? And why are so many words untranslated (like "Neko no Obana" "Mazoku") when it started with the intention of forcefully translate everything? Also, what's up with "I need to find [...] cards" on the sixth page? That's obviously off the mark, it doesn't even make sense... Well anyway, the manga is great :)

PRETTY sure the author at the very least made an unconscious bias here, considering one is treated as a mob while the other immediately shows sentience and is given that much affection from the getgo.

I'm going to legitimize it in my mind by thinking the guild is a lot like hunting rules in America where they basically put out a bounty on animals during certain "seasons" because they can become a danger to their own ecosystem due to overpopulation or damage or what have you.

Considering how poison animals work IRL and the fact that medical complexity exists in this manga, there's no telling how dangerous poison can be. i.e. similar to someone allergic to bees getting stung by a Japanese Hornet, which is one of the most poisonous insects on the planet already, if a townsperson were allergic to cats a simple bite could kill them...
