The main problem is that it doesn't bring anything to the story not to simply translate it, so... Yup, why?

@Miriha Hostages aren't terribly useful if they're dead. Injured or maimed can send a message, but dead runs the risk of not getting someone to run headlong into whatever trap you're preparing for them because it's already to late to save the hostage. Some people would still charge in for revenge, obviously, but if cooler heads prevail, they're going to wait for a better opportunity.
