@FreezeBlue it's fiction... so don't compare so much with reality. Moreover there no say that her old world is same as our world, and maybe there problem with emergency generator so it's take 2 second for it. Even we created thing with much attention, something that human created can't be perfect. After all we are no god, human can create many mistake. You can see it in our history.

Her body was already weak being hospitalized and all. A body on the verge of death and on life support means that stopping for a second means it over. Once support stops, so does ur body. You saw that her arms were thin like a starving african child in that flashback.

IT would have been better if they explained as a respirator malfunction rather then power outage, or they should have detailed everything a bit better.
A 2 second stop of a respirator (the time to let the generator kick in) isn't gonna kill anyone.
Unless there was something else as support (extracorporeal circulation for example) that wasn't shown.
