In your opinion what is the most annoying/overused manga cliche?

As title states what’s do you think is the most overused cliche/trope used in manga?

Examples: Accidental pervert, badly done tsunderes, MC is so dense to a potential love interest that his ignorance could be used as a fortified bomb shelter. At this point any specific trope or cliche that annoys you.

This might not be a plot but more like a situation. For me it's when the manga is being cancelled or axed that the author would rush everything out making the manga going downhill with it's cliche story.

Not sure about this one but,
I do kinda find it annoying when an Isekai protagonist is oblivious about their overpoweredness and sort of act their overpoweredness is a normal thing that an avarage Joe could easily accomplish, and then they will be surprised when they were told it is unusual or so.

It gave me an impression like they are saying something like:
"Oops! Turns out I'm overpowered. *tee hee* "

An isekai that uses isekai for the sake of isekaifag-magnet in which the isekai aspect is entirely useless.

A "return to the past to prevent an apocalypse" trope that is cheaply used with bad writing.

Those scenes where the author thinks it's a good idea to put things resembling modern technology in fantasy worlds, like, we're here to see magic not the reinvention of mobile phones!

Isekai protagonists pulling revolutionary inventions without effort. Except Kenja no Mago cause that series did it right.

The "What did you say? I didn't hear you because of X!" trope that is horribly done.

The "I was a robot with no emotions but someone died and now I'm sad" trope is kinda tiring and I haven't seen any examples that deserves a "masterpiece" category. The character most of the time does not deserve it and just suddenly became human after their creator died or something. If shounen characters need a training arc to get a power-up, you also need an arc to get emotions.

I don't think I need to mention this cause it's the absolute minimum to call a series good but, ANY two-dimensional character in a complete series and I'm rating it a 6 or under. You should have time to develop them all and leaving even one of them underdeveloped at the end just means that you aren't skilled enough as a writer/author, at least at the moment.

Here's a hentai trope: boring vanilla. I love vanilla but just because it's a hentai doesn't mean that you can just create average-looking sex scenes and get away with it. Where in the world is your passion?! Maybe it's just not my fetish but my point still stands.

That scene where a character, wether protagonist or antagonist, with OP powers suddenly become weak just so that they could be defeated for the plot to progress. There have to be a good reason that they got weakened other than "because plot".

"Oh wow I happen to find this OP weapon on the ground and now I can go defeat the villian!"

"Oh wow I happen to meet this OP guy in my journey and now we can go and defeat the villian together!"

"Oh wow I happen to meet this OP wizard who gave me an OP buff for X reason and now I have enough power to defeat the villian on my own!"

A badly done Stockholm syndrome story is just plain creepy...

That character that gives up too easily as their personality.

"We don't know how it works yet it works don't question it" trope WELL WHY DON'T YOU STUDY IT LIKE CURIOUS PEOPLE WOULD?!!!

Blatantly-obvious false facts like a science fact gone wrong or a human society where things that shouldn't happen happen.

I agree with you on many of those tired cliches. I believe a lot of it has to do with either bad writing or lack of inspiration.

Isekai for the sake of it is somewhat pointless. If the author wanted to make a story keep it as a pure Fantasy story instead. Sometimes the technology aspect is just their to state: ‘Look how great stuff here in Japan is in comparison to yours.’

The Vanilla tag I believe the artist doesn’t have a reference or lacks a good ingenuity to make a intimate scene lackluster.

A few things that bug me include: Plot driven by Misunderstandings that could be solved with a simple conversation.

Incredibly dense MC's that are dense to the point where they dont even seem human.

The violent tsundere after some stupid misunderstanding. I’ll provide an example. Tsundere walks around in the common area almost nude, Protagonist just so happens to walk by. Either of them trip on top of each other. Or girl trips and lands in some awkward position.

Tsundere then proceeds to beat the crap out of him because apparently that's a valid character archetype.

I've read like 3 cooking manga and i can't read them mainly 'cause of one thing: There's a character that was hardworking, good looking, seen by others as the point they should strive to achive. This character will eat some random MC dish, instantly throws away his previous life to become a cook like MC.

Dandan already stole all my biggest peeves, but two of mine:

Isekai/Wuxia where everyone is so stupidly, violently evil that the society/population levels they are portrayed as living in cannot logically exist, even if all the women breed like rabbits.

Stories where a character is blatantly evil and/or an asshole yet the author arranges everything to try and tell us (s)he is morally good.

Hmm, let's see...
Series started by a misunderstanding that doesn't get cleared up no matter how much the story progresses;
The violent, asocial and overprotective female best friend of the MC's love interest, who usually ends up falling for him too;
The shoujo manga heroine who everyone calls plain (even though she looks just like everyone else) and talentless, but makes every hot guy fall for her, even if they keep badmouthing her;
The shallow, annoyingly persistent love rivals who are introduced for the sole purpose of prolonging the story, or having more and more new side characters who keep getting more screentime and development than the MCs;
... And many more others, but really, it's all about how the author handles the story, and there's almost nothing that I love more than seeing old tropes subverted or used in a refreshing and genuine way!

I dislike unbalanced protagonists. These come in two basic flavors: lowest common denominator, complete loser or overpowered edgelord who easily disposes of all opponents. How about a protagonist that strikes a balance between these two extremes? A story is more interesting when it isn't always clear whether or not the protagonist will win.
