Obviously, she's going to run into trouble with the established hierarchy; she doesn't actually have the amount of power that she thinks she has, as true power is reflected by who will follow your orders; at the moment they are humoring her, as she's still being of value to them in regard to swaying the masses, but as soon as she attempts real change from a position of authority, they'll pull the rug out from under her.

At which time her life won't be worth a wooden nickel, as the only way to insure she doesn't rally rank and file believers to her cause is to kill her. That's an ugly reality, but the people she's up against are a very pragmatic bunch.

Obviously, the MC and his gal will just happen to be close enough at the time to rescue her. Otherwise, no foreshadowing concerning their future meeting.

@captain_crunch That's his play-style. The king was kind enough to give the MC new clothes, a weapon, and money when he got himself kicked out of the castle. However, it doesn't mean the MC will extend the same courtesy to his slave. That's not his play-style.
