Isekai de Slow Life wo (Ganbou) - Vol. 1 Ch. 2 - Learning Alchemy

@tempdos
that's why superior economies use money with external value, such as "precious" metals and long-lasting commodities, usually food, as their value will never truly disappear

@FlatEarth

Right? The MC's skill might as well be "counterfeit currency". All its going to do in the long run is devalue whatever currency he's counterfeiting, depending on how frivolous he is with it.

Like we have at least one historical example on our own planet where a wealthy individual (mansa musa, I think his name was) gave a bunch of free gold away in an Egyptian city and basically caused the currency to collapse.

MC of this series doesn't seem much better.

Found a pic of the translator and a message from him.

They call me Cha'kwaina. I am translator. I translate. You are reader. you read.

whats the point of getting this money skill if you have to work and level it up for profit. He said he didn't want to work but it looks like he's working pretty hard to make all those low level potions and learn alchemy. Imagine if he'd just taken an alchemy skill and sold high level potions, he'd probably make a lot more. Honestly 'pocket change' sounds like something beginners get and then later stop using because they get better skills that make more money with less effort.

Is that an old lady or old man? who knows, i don't thats for sure.

@GrimGriefer I just came across this series and read the first chapter and then after starting the second, I couldn't help but wonder if anyone else felt the same way I did about the translations. lmao, glad I'm not alone.

Why do I get the impression the Alchemy Guild Leader is an old granny cosplaying as Uncle Roger. "You want join guild? You drifter, already have trouble with aristocrats, not even have letter of introduction."

Hm not bad so far. Hopefully pocket money works out for him cuz it seems pretty crappy rn
