Isekai Demo Bunan ni Ikitai Shoukougun - Vol. 2 Ch. 7

This is a world of extreme plenty, it seems. So much so that you don't even need salt to preserve stuff (they probably use magic to either preserve or grow it all the time.)

And since there's magic, news about salt price increase should spread well.

@daraku agreed, I like that the spice the author used for this is salt. Until people found and figured out how to process rock salt / salt from minerals. Salt deposits are usually not spread out but focused on spots (dried up lakes, caves opened up the sea or rivers, etc).

I am really curious what the previous other worlders did in the world.

@boogle well if I read between the lines correctly, from the bandit raid, other Japanese people (or at least one), went around doing the taboo nazi medical research thing, using magic to do vivisection, testing dark magics, enslaving souls, and making nukes. Apparently the book that taught that bandit the necromancy, is only volume four.

I dont like the fact he thinks so highly of the criminal guy. He was just a garbage human. So like... why keep idolizing him ?... But its cool hes teaming up with the dorf knight. They make an interesting pair of bros.

Aww, poor Illia, she was waiting for him to return. Bet ya shes going to track the both of them down lol and get mad misunderstanding they were up to something.

ps -- please no more story about food. If they go on about how Japanese food is the best, I'll seriously flip a table.

That criminal guy was cool asf. If our MC wasn't there he would've gotten away and he was chill too. Honestly, I don't care if somebody was pure evil and would kill anybody with no regard, if they were absurdly smart, chill, and knew how to use people, I'd work and even be friends with them.

Someone as clever and crafty as this dude is just working his ass off and turning a scuffed inn into a restaurant with otherworldly foods for free? I find it quite unrealistic, if you're gonna make a sly character you can't back down and make him a hardcore philanthropist out of the blue.

@Velsy : I don't think he "idolizes" the head thief...more like he doesn't really hate him and understands that the dude is just doing whatever he could to "survive" including threatening his fellow thieves and using their corpse. I guess he could just ignore the rape and murder (which is a bit disturbing).

The MC doesn't view himself as a hero, he's not someone that would risk his life to do something that is "just". He's not a bad person, but he's not above lying, cheating and stealing. He'd probably be fully capable of murder if it came down to him v. enemy. So the MC, unlike Illia did not see the thief as "pure evil" but merely human.

We don't know what he does in real life. Maybe he's a detective/prison guard for all we know. So he's desensitized to these things.

This salt bullshit should have been nixed by the editor. It's completely redundant when added on top of just teaching Gozz to cook. Regularly eating staple foods is more than enough sodium for the body. The economics only vaguely make sense due to being poorly explained. Bad worldbuilding too.
