Isekai Kenkokuki - Vol. 2 Ch. 14

Dude is kinda skipping steps.
And funny to be mentioning lye without making soap. Isekai protagonists usually love making soap.
But seriously... the amount of ash you need for this shit is ridiculous... Gotta mix it into a thick black slurry, then filter out all the solid components with multiple stages of filtering and heating, ideally. BUT this guy doesn't even have anything that would serve as a decent filter, so I'm guessing he is just letting the crud settle and trying to pour off the top each time.

This is the first time I saw jap isekai manga that grow weeds. Tbh though weed can be used for many thing, it can be spice, medicine, and even clothes/rope materials. It is just that latter generation(modern time) start to smoke it make many countries banned it.

Do people just walks around remembering an exact methods of paper making in the back of their head? Because I sure am not

@musicfreak12 Different people learn and remember different things. I'm sure you'd also know something useful in a similar situation. The MC grew up in an orphanage (a decent one, I assume, not one from a horror story) and had multiple part-time jobs, in addition to being in college already. It's possible his background made him seek out knowledge in a different way than an average kid, who would just game and play with friends after school and homework. We do know, for a fact, that he had farming experience and also went to some kind of museum/exhibition farm as well. If he saw such things, it makes sense he would have seen other things as well. You'd learn a lot from museums alone, especially when you are young with a fresh brain.

anyone else bothered by these "young kids(10-12 year olds)" that have faces that look like late teens or early 20's. the artist really needs to learn how to draw child faces.

@KamiKira00 Oh you poor sweet naive child, slavery never gone away fool, it's still practiced openly in many nations, and on most 1st world countries they just exist in other name while some rich nations like Saudi and China practice it openly even today.
