Isekai Kenkokuki - Vol. 4 Ch. 25.1

@givemersspls
Flaming projectiles in general are extremely useful when your enemy is fortified behind wooden structures, as with these ramparts.
Didn't they already say they wanted to make use of the fortifications they already had there, to act as a base between both kingdoms?
Plus, they want whatever food and other supplies they have, so starting fires would hamper that. Your idea only really works if they don't care about having to put out the fire they start, and only want to eliminate the fort altogether.

@givemersspls You still have to be able to create the canon. It has to be in the right shape, made of the right materials, and so on. Lots of R&D, and canons would be really expensive just from the iron. The civilization's metallurgy might also not be up to par for all we know (the aesthetic looks late bronze age, early iron age), and no amount of high-school chemistry is going to fix that, unless he actually studied historical metallurgy.

Don't worry, guys!

wait, what? why didn't he use catapults to throw his grenades or something? it's such a simple idea smh

When the enemy attacks with all his troops but doesn't realize their opponent still has untapped mana ......

(if you get this reference congrats you've been spoiled)

Uhhh... why did they need to waste time covering the pit with a few planks of wood that won't help people cross it, when they could simply walk around the pit?

@Nk9bjP4A because it was on the battering ram path, it will take even more time to push that around the pit

@givemersspls ok so they go whole hog on burning the fortifications, since there is easily accessible wood nearby, that doesn't replace the food in the stores they were planning to raid on the way to Rosice, and fire in the forest may anger the Gryphon. Remember that Ferme is doing a terrible job of keeping his "kingdom" supplied, he needs to get whatever that village has in their larder, just to feed the troops he has, as they took only enough to make the sprint to Rosice.

The shape and toughness of the cannon matters too, you make it too hard or soft and the thing is just a bomb that will burn something in front of it too, or you end up with a rocket, flying back into whoever lit it. It's probably mostly due to not wanting to let that technology out, save it as a secret weapon for when he is king.

So voodoo Magic really is useless in battles? I thought they could at last make some fire.
The Archer on tower was as useless, he could have shot the enemy archers before the enemy soldiers got close enough to shot rocks at him.
I know they are amateurs, but this looks oddly stupid even for amateurs.
On the other side I just didn't understand how putting tables over a hole helped them not falling in another holes(to begin with this don't even help them cross the one they discovered).

@Shakur Maybe they did that to prevent accidents (lol).
So far I think Almus's side is pretty stupid. Or maybe they'll have trump cards later on!?

how did the 200 know to bring a battering ram? their bird witches died before reporting anything. maybe they sent a regular scout first. and then how did they bring it through a forest, disassemble and assemble?

I'm impressed they didn't bury some explosives to trigger with flame arrows or something. That would've been neat.

@Serkket

But that won't work the second time. It's much more cost-effective to create grenades and crude gunpowder weapons like hand cannons or even fire lances.
