Isekai Kenkokuki - Vol. 6 Ch. 42.1

When you lust over the mc harem, you get the biggest loser flag ever, it's not even funny this duel. I just hope this end quickly.

Considering doing terrible things to the protagonists harem is basically the ultimate death flag... Even if we were silly enough to assume he stood even the slightest chance, he goes and consigns himself to death.

@Renan_Walheim This is actually an instance where the sword/material being praised isn't connected with Japan or Katanas at all. It is a lost art, and very advanced for the time period, and noted for the quality of the steel, in contrast with the Japanese swords that were often trying to overcome inferior quality steel. (In fact, many have hypothesized that a lack of the materials used for it is part of why the process for making Damascus Steel was lost.) Many scientists and archaeologists have tried to duplicate the lost method multiple times because of how good those swords were.

@BloodySorcerer
@8bitholic

He is really asinine and its a wonder how he got this far without getting assassinated.
The blessing of kings makes him stronger the more people follow him, but he is knowingly using policies that make people want to escape from his control.
Loyalty can be bought and doing so is a good idea, but not when you do it at the cost of the majority of people under your rule.
He is squandering his own potential by catering to the few nobles instead of the many peasants and serfs.
That said he does make for a good antagonist for the main character...

Now I'm wondering if Dibel actually has any technique, or if he only got this far through brute strength alone.

If Almus faces off against Rigar in the duel and demonstrates superior techniques in sword fighting, that blessing is going to bite Rigar in the ass as people see how weak he is in real time, which causes them to lose faith in him as a ruler, which causes him to get weaker... a brutal cycle.

So much exposition, dibel doesn't deserve a page of it by how lame of a villain he is. Should've been wrapped up already ages ago and started new more meaningful arc with not 2 dimensional villains hopefully

As if we needed more reasons to hate Dibel, he's basically a card-carrying villain by now.

How to set death flags 101:

1) Be a villain
2) Be a fucking dumbass
3) Be cocky (and think with your cock)
4) Call out the MC to fight
5) Be a rapist (unless you are the MC)

Does the MC
kill the Dibel brat? or does he surrender before the death blow?

"Being cocky is a fool sense of glory".
Am I quoted it right?
Basically Riger already in a pre-celebration mood because he know he will win...
