It must suck for Diablo to find out his home is being looted as public property. I wonder if he still has control over the monsters there, assuming he ever had. It's also possible the monsters of the first 12 floors are fully autonomous, while he personally never visits any floors but the last one. Then it wouldn't really matter whether to recognise him or not. That is, of course, only assuming he has a way to jump straight to the last floor.
