Needing to go to the church to level up seems like it could lead to problems with societies development.
though a rich and overpriced nation right next to a poor nation, both using the same shared financial resource as a source of funds seems more like a source of issues to me.
anyway, I don't remember this one too well. I liked it but the translation stopped ages ago. I don't think he was the whiny or angsty type though. I don't think it goes to the degree that Death Mage does but I think he more or less settles pretty well in this world. He worries about his sick sister but other than that he doesn't really mope or anything. He IS the type who looks at certain characters being introduced, says they look like trouble, and tries to leave unnoticed before catching their attention but I think this is the most aggressive you'll see both him, in trying to get away, and the new character, in trying to get involved with him, be.
@Meridis Thanks for insight for future chapters - I prefer MC's to be a little more optimistic than he is at present, so if this is as bad/worst that he gets, then I'll keep following. Cheers!
Damn I like this Mc, the more he realizes the situation the more he gets pissed unlike other bland naive isekai protagonists. He didn't even hesitate throwing the girl at the wall.
What I think I got from this is that his [???] skill takes his emotions away in exchange for peace of mind.
Maybe a mechanism in order to convert him into the perfect player
