...Urgh. I have a feeling this will not click well with me. First of all, the mc has access to internet. If there's something I hate, it's still having a connection to your former world when in a new one, especially an extremely intrusive one like that where you can buy stuff and browse the web. Feels way too half-arsed. The second thing I really hate is that the mc is a smoker. That's just disgusting in so many ways. Other than that, the story feels kinda lacking and can't pull me in. It feels wrong in some way, the mood is weird.

I agree with @shakur. The yen is a devalued, hyperinflated piece of shit currency. Its like the penny in the US. Any nation that used money made from precious metals and allowed it to become so overinflated would quickly collapse. Its bad enough when you're dealing with only fiat currency. This is why counterfeiting is considered to be such a serious crime.
