@void216 if you like that you should give Re:Zero a read, it's literally all about a powerless isekai protagonist who most of the time has to rely on others who are far stronger than him, since he's just a normal dude without magic or anything in a world of spirits, dragons, swordmasters and archmages.
@Captaininvictus sounds depressing to be that useless. A lot of these isekei stories are about people in shitty situations getting killed and moved into a somewhat better or dare I say more interesting life even if their new family and friends die on them. They are given the power to protect generally everyone around them especially if they try instead of relying on others to do so much for you.
@Captaininvictus I find it odd that there's someone who hasn't heard of Re:Zero, the anime was one thing but the novels are on a whole different level.
@liquidxlax it's fucking fantastic precisely because of how he works around being powerless. You should really give it a try. The only power he has is the ability to respawn, but only he remembers what happened. It's groundhog day but only triggered on death. It for sure gets extremely miserable at points, but he then has to figure out how to avoid his misery. It's an incredible series, one of the better isekai out there no question.
It is not power fantasy, indeed he even tried to be the typical isekai protagonist bur quickly finds himself extremely outmatched. But that does not stop him from trying despite the odds, and the strength of the people he loves, and the people who love him, is what elevates it above most other isekai series. Like this one, Ossan, is okay at best, but it's just slightly above pub food in terms of quality.
Re:Zero's MC is sucks. the MC is basically a immortal suicidal maniac. If you have no power, use your brain. if no power no brain then don't look for trouble. Re:Zero's MC had no power no brain but keep looking for trouble and died multiple times for silly reasons.
@Captaininvictus the dying and respawning with trying to redo shit so he won't die is what I hate about it. Life kinda loses meaning if you keep respawning in the same body after you fuck up. He doesn't really lose anything nor does he ever have to. I just don't like the idea behind it though I do like Rem and Ram
