It honestly doesnt matter if he doesnt die of old age at this point. relying your whole livelihood on one person is a bad idea in the first place, and now the livelihood of more than 500 people on one person is just absurd. There's a limit to how much he can do in one day/month/year, no matter how omnipotent the tool is. And if by any chance that he is unable to continue, due to sickness, a wound, a magical intervention, the whole system would collapse with him and dooming hundreds of individuals.

They need a back up plan or a self-sustaining cycle way way earlier than now
