Isekai Ryouridou - Vol. 3 Ch. 14 - Price and Resolution

@dyuinco
Its sounds like this adaptation is getting rushed, is there like some major event that the artist wants to get to?

@CraniumAmbiguity
I know.

The townspeople ever ate Gibba. They eat other animals that they know to bloodlet. The Gibba were simply too dangerous to hunt in large numbers if you weren’t a tribesman so the only time they would get to eat Gibba would probably be when they ate some jerky from the hunters.

I remember reading something in the LN with the Grandma Luu saying that if they had built up relations with the town, their way of life may have bee easier

"The tribesman migrated from a different land where they subsided on roots, fruits and lizards"

All animals killed for food by humans are bled. Chickens, guinea pigs, snakes and even lizards are bled. The Aboriginal Martu people of Western Australia hunt goanna (monitor lizards) with fire and spears, but they still slit their throats to bleed them once killed.

The only way they wouldn't know to bleed them, is if everyone else in their world were obligate vegetarians, and they had only started hunting Giba very recently.
Even if they had been hunting Giba for five years, they would've noticed that the ones who died from massive blood loss would taste better than those that died from blunt force trauma.

He better not make curry.

@Northern I pointed that out when it first came up. It's your typical, make everyone else impossibly incompetent to make your self-insert shine. There's also the weird pride they have as Giba hunters even though they've only been doing it for like 2 generations and some of them were alive when they were banished.

They're proud and stupid at the same time.

@Northern @Ironclad It's not about them being incompetent. They quickly developed a culture here of only doing what was strictly necessary. Did you forget all the crap Ai Fa said in the first couple chapters? These people didn't care how it tasted, they just wanted sustenance. It's still a poor excuse for not doing something that's not really adding that much time and effort compared to the end results of each way of doing it, but that's the excuse right there. They stopped caring how it tasted because they all sucked at cooking anyway.

@Glomoro All of there food would spoil immediately if they don't drain the carcass. This isn't a matter of pragmatism, it's a necessity.

@Ironclad Look, I'm not saying this story is well written on this subject in any way. What I am saying is the excuse that was given. It's "another world," and they're using substances unknown to us to preserve the meat alongside the salt that might not even be exactly the same as our salt. If there's a problem with storing meats that still contain that much blood in our world, it's the author's fault more than the characters for not presenting that well here. You can't really write people to be smarter than yourself or who know things you don't know yourself without way more work than any of them really put into the web novels that end up adapted into light novels that then get adapted into this, which is like a game of "telephone" by the time we see the end product here too so who knows what all was missing along the way. Since blood is actually consumed in various ways, the author may not have had any idea it can cause problems with stored foods.

@boag there is since this is future info I will treat as spoiler :sweat:
In the last volume they start doing business in the "city of stone" and selling pseudo-giba-burguers, They start to deal with the Sun clan corruption and Vina Ruu gets to leave the forest a little to help him in the shop.
Also by teaching the dissection and bloodletting the people of the forest started to have a surplus of meat, that meat will probably go to Asutas business and other families won't starve anymore, they
actually don't know now what to do with soo much meat.

That will be probably be the next manga arc, they will meet a skinny guy that is said to be stronger than most of the people of the forest (kamui I guess was the name)
He gets interested in how Asuta got to be recognized by the People of the forest and also by his food.

I am subscribed in the pre-sale of the next volume but everything is sending this to the direction where his food will become famous and will probably help decide on the future of the Ruu X Sun clan fight.
They might give us more info about the Sun clan since right now the only thing we know is that they are as powerfull as the Ruu clan and that they are the ones that receive the money from the Lord to keep the Gibas under control and they do not distribute that money, they became corrupt. But that's too superficial.

He's being such a gayboi, what's the point of walking up just to get smacked lol
