I’m not an expert on the subject, but I think it might have something to do with passivity.

Japan, from what I’ve seen, has a culture that discourages breaking from the mold. Even something like telling someone “hey, I don’t want to talk to you” is only acceptable if the speaker says something like “you know, I’d prefer not to talk about X”. In a sense, rather than make a scene in an attempt to get what they want or don’t want, culture has them try so in a polite way.

What I’m trying to get at is that while the author may want a big titty demon GF who loves him unconditionally and wants to ravage him like an animal, to actively request that would be seen as too demanding. But if one was thrusted upon him as if he didn’t want it, he wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

But again, maybe I’m getting this all wrong. Japan’s a big place, so maybe we can’t let a subset of authors paint our impressions of them.

My first impression on the MC is that the author wanted him to be unique(you know with his eyes) but it just falls as a bland looking character even his personality is boring holy shit, My prediction is that they will never "do it" anytime soon and the author is just going to stall it until the end of the series or maybe never, who knows.

This is hentai depth without the r18 content. Shallow plot, conflicts are boring, characters are generic, etc. I do appreciate more than 5 pages in a chapter.
Also, how uninteresting is it to have the plot as "you're the only guy I've ever met, I'm destined to have your child.". Definitely not flattering for a male. Heck that would've been a nice plot point... But instead it's just fluff and hey let's add another female and make this a harem.

@xyzzy yeah! I've noticed a lot of cultural/behavioral norms in these stories that affect the way people act, often in a manner as you described. I feel like sometimes those ingrained behaviors allow antagonists to take advantage of the situation by being pushy.
Passivity is just so deeply in direct opposition from my own personality and world view that I find it truly confusing how anyone can let it define their actions. I feel that if you spend your life in permanent restraint then in the end all you'll be left with is regrets - I know first hand that being too unrestrained can leave you with regrets too, but I still feel it's the better way to live >> after all, you miss 100% of the shots you dont take, better to shoot and miss than to never shoot and always wonder if you would've scored. Life's short, and you never know how long you've got -- so MCs dont waste your time being indecisive, sieze the moment! Lol
