Isekai Tensei Soudouki - Vol. 6 Ch. 44

@bushwhacker2k unfortunately all those tropes or cliches whatever you call them are the cash cows of the industry for whatever reason. I read that Kenja no Mago's LN and manga sold over 3 million copies. For something as unoriginal and imo uncreative as that to sell so well you can't blame the authors, production companies, or publishers anymore. Their is literally no incentive to be innovative or take risks cause the market has already given you a fool proof cheat code. Maybe we will reach a point where stuff like you mentioned gets so oversaturated in Japan that things change but guess what, as I type this a new SAO installment has been given the green light. As an individual i guess you can always choose to boycott and vote with your feet as they say but even if you choose to be turn your nose up to it you either stick to fringe/niche stuff which imo you might as well stop enjoying manga/anime as a whole. Sadly for us in outside Japan we are at the mercy of our Japanese otaku overlords...

@firefox1234 Nonsense!

... I'm at the mercy of my Chinese overlords! <3 Xianxia

Partial-joking aside, I actually do like Isekai stories. I always felt like there was something missing for stories before this genre came out (hard to put into words). I don't even mind that other people are bandwagoning onto a popular new genre, it's just unfortunate that enough negative tropes and blatant ripoffs are emerging too.

@bushwhacker2k ah! another kindred spirit into Xianxia genre, so happy the universe in its infinite wisdom brought us together and would love to hear some recommendations or where our reading history overlap!

On a serious note i love isekai as well that is has given me a new motto for anime/manga in general: "I can overlook lack of originality, but not a lack of creativity" I kno the reality of the situation will mean i have to settle on some areas and that line i hve drawn has improved my experiences with this form of entertainment.

Feel free

To be honest I think his mum is basically the character that makes this series.

@Pokari Aren't all the women in this series basically some variation on his mom? She's the most overpowered one, but even the ones that aren't actually love interests (e.g. Teresa) are highly aggressive, and most of them are crazy and/or violent.

I love this manga, it's absolutely hilarious how Balud's mom is an unstoppable warrior but is easily defeated by her husband's Wiles.
