@Beregorn oh yea they could have used "boss" for the village chief and it totally make sense in English. But using "chief" for a monster sounds stupid.
 
I think master would be a better word to use than chief if not boss or some made up word
 
this isn't a game so the people in this world couldn't have called the monsters boss
Retain the chief as it sounds more native
 
@greyhud90 I have to agree that calling them boss in this would be unnatural sounding, considering the only reason any of us would even think to refer to them as bosses is game related. Almost anything would fit better than "boss" here given the lack of game elements in the story. I also don't remember anyone complaining in the earlier chapters when they were called stuff like the kobold king. Why is it only a problem now with "chief?"
