Isekai Yakkyoku - Vol. 4 Ch. 16 - Melodie, The Healthcare Flame Craft Specialist

Wow, another treatment with important implications that the manga just glossed over entirely. Why am I not surprised?

>Sees girl in undergarments
>Because it's too hot
>Sees sturdy men in the background

Is this fanservice?

Wanna bet that those herb and ointment are the reason of her sickness in the first place?
Foaming mouth is not a symptom of natural sickness.
Well, cept rabies, but unless there's anti-virus magic, he won't be able to cure it.

Yeah, I'm sure that theI-make-my-own-guild plan will totally not backfire.

Until Glasses-chan wears another of her see-through outfits, my ability to care what Falma does is really low.

The foreshadowing and implication that the Pharmacist Guild is evil is surprisingly acceptable to me. Big Businesses are always in it for the greed. Add nobility to that and you got yourself an surefire equation for evil. At the same time, though, NB4 we start seeing the shadowy table of old men thinking up murder plots.

Also, that set up for new side character is so forced on the last page. Might as well put a neon sign saying "This person is important to the plot."
I wonder if they're gonna skip his problem too, like Melodie's

Another plot device character got introduced to make our MC look even more "amazing", it's starting to get old.

This manga is making a big mistake in glossing over hardships while only trying to make the MC seem amazing or 'right'. It'll eventually wear a reader down when they don't have some reason to go on.
I mean even the guild issue. After all given that he's a pharmacist and other than his father the people around him don't seem like the type that could create a new guild that already has competition.

If anything he should have at least tried to convince the guild first but what will probably happen is that a lot of process will be skipped and then in 3 chapters he'll somehow have a florishing guild that forces the super 'evil' one to bow out.

I mean everyone likes wish fulfilment to an extent but when its not only easy mode but the process is skipped it becomes boring FAST. It would have to be a story that many people could self-insert themselves to for it not to and even then a lot of people like challenge.

Yeah it's getting repetitive now, then again if falma actually drops dead from overwork agai it'll be worth it

@Vasqueztion I think he would have been better off trying to invite some members of the guild in to explain the processes, but I doubt it would have worked out in the long run. While they are obviously feeling their position is threatened, in their age of superstitions and apparently actual evil spirits/demons, it wouldn't be surprising to find them suspicious. It's the perfect storm of feudal class-ism, religious superstition, and entrenched interests.

But there is no way they would accept providing medicines to commoners and cheaply when their whole existence has been about keeping prices high and discriminating against commoners.

@Aereus
He ends up making his own guild and recruits some of the local pharmacies.

@Aereus
Let's not forget he's seen as a literal God incarnate. I can't imagine the angst and butthurt you would have when you find out that a rival guild is run by thd god of your profession. All the more reason you would have him gone sooner than later, unless you're late to the knowledge party, when you're an evil conglomerate.

But since his godhood is something secret, it probably won't play that big a part in till later. I do, however, expect a few arcs of attempted murder and even a, "we kidnapped your sister" senario. The tropes are real.

I'm still salty over the skipped treatment of Melodie. It was interesting to see the glass-working though.
