because she willingly does it. It seems to be a pattern of self-victimization. She doesn't see what shes doing as wrong, but hates the reception she is getting, yet continues to do it. the fact she's seeing 5 married men, doesn't help her case, and she was very proud of that fact when we first meet her too.
 
Aww, she's observing Itai like one would observe a cat - to improve her mood. xD On a slightly more serious note - while I don't think that thinking (lol I guess I can't English today) "I'm not like the other girls" is a good solution and I'm sure that not all girls and at least some guys dislike her/gossip about her as well, I'm glad she had that exchange with Itai at the end.

No need to slut shame, Who cares in if either a man or women sleep with a lot individuals, as long as it consensual, they are single and theres no fucking cheating. Both the husbands/boyfriends and Sonobe can go fuck themselves. They are all equally pieces of shit and they don't deserve a single ounce of pity.

So no "homewrecker" nonsense, screw the husbands/boyfriends who can't their dick in their pants and Sonobe making moves on individuals in a relationship.

Also, theoretically, if Itai every ends up dating a older man, nothing would stop Sonobe trying to start a affair with her new best friend boyfriend. We're lucky that Itai is so hopeless in dating, because with Sonobe around it's a potential NTR story in the making for the FMC if she wasn't so hopeless.

Gossiping is stupid but I can understand why other women are unwilling to trust Sonobe, why be friends with someone who'll throw friendship and trust aside the moment they see a older man they wanna get down with regardless if they are single or not.
 
@_thestranger_ nice for lumping everyone together. It's not slut shaming. it's a clear fact she does not like the attention it brings to her, She literally complains about it in this very chapter. Yet when we meet her, shes very proud of the fact she only sees men in power and are married. If she doesn't like the reception, she should stop.

Man I don't like touching his hot stove top, but no one is forcing me to do it, so I'll continue to do it even though it hurts me.

My point is I don't care if she is a slut or not as long the people she has relationships with is consensual, they are single and there's no fucking cheating.

But she's absolutely has a victim complex, along with a lot of narcissism, and she doesn't realize her shitty actions is what makes other women hate her. She deserves all the hate that comes to her.
 
@_thestranger_ Just a lot of people generally thinking of the story in terms of black and white. Some absolve Kousuke of all his mistakes while demonizing every other character and wanting him to bang Koto with zero regard for the consequences. On the other hand, some treat Kousuke like an irredeemable monster rather than a damaged man at the end of his rope.

The ending was strangely lacking for the dramafest that was the entire manga; kind of open-ended too.
None of the characters were truly and irreversibly fucked, however. Kousuke somehow managed to keep his job but is still not in good terms with Miya and is also still pretty depressed. On the other hand, Koto finally stood up to her mother, and they seemingly hatched things out after she confronted her. She said things are still awkward between them, but her mom has loosened up a lot, even allowing her to work her old part-time job again.

The two of them are also still seeing each other, albeit with far less frequency, and hopefully far less risk. But that's pretty much it.

Well that doesn't sound like a good ending, not like everything before it was enjoyable to read in the first place for me personally. I still don't get why that manga got really popular, maybe it had to with the whole JK (high school girl) girl dating/hanging out with a older man trope.

Because the characters were all unlikeable, honestly kind of boring (at least for me), and character art design weren't anything special so I dropped it mid way.

Personally, something like "Boy's Abyss" is a lot better and interesting in tackling similar drama themes than Musume no Tomodachi. I highly recommend it although the comment section for that is also a shit show lol, you got people with some insane takes/comments.

I should clarify that I was saying that the "slut shaming or not" debate was irrelevant (hence, the "no need to slut shame" comment) to the main issue at hand (So I wasn't taking sides or bashing anyone with for slut debate thingy).

My core point was that both the husbands/boyfriends that cheated and Sonobe who had affairs with these men were both equally shitty for engaging in cheating.
You can be a slut/man whore that sleeps(consensual) with a lot individuals that aren't in relationships or who are in open/inform relationships but be morally okay because there's no cheating.

The cheating from the men and Sonobe going after men that are in a relationship is the real problem. Not the slut debate.

I hope I was able to clear that up.

that does clear things up and I would generally agree.(Id considered you worse if you have the partner and you're cheating but both are definitely bad)
