A good story isn’t tainted by bad art. This manga... isn’t one. The art is childishly cute, charming in its own way, the story is... strange. The romance is hollow, and the fact that Mii-kun spent more time conflicting with himself than actually sorting out his feelings doesn’t help with it at all. The plot was nice, I love how everything comes along and now everything is portrayed. There’s a sequel that has yet to be fully translated, which flesh things out and is more lighthearted, but this prequel on its own just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
There’s this trope in BL that feelings can only be fully conveyed and realised through sex and skinship. I suppose that’s what the author was going for in this manga, with Mii-Kim playing around and all, but it just makes the romance with Kei more... hollow. Of course there’s nothing wrong with having other lovers, but in this case, it’s just... strange. For me, anyways.

This story really wasn't what I was expecting. It isn't very cute and has some really sad moments, but it's worth reading. It is not what I'm used to with this genre, but it makes it even more original and clever. I think that the characters are relatable and believable. Their confusion regarding their sexual orientation and how they end up exploring to deal with that is something that I've seen happen in real life. I disagree with the comments saying that art is awfull. It is unique, for sure, but didn't distract me from reading. I will definitely read the sequence since I heard is even better than this short story.
