@UnknownSaint111 The Japanese have a literary tradition of grooming. In Genji Monogatari (the original novel published sometime before 1021 AD written by a Heian court lady, Murasaki Shikibu) Genji raises a girl to be his ideal bride. Not saying I agree with it but there is strong precedent and I can see why it would happen in Japanese literature.

Wait, what? I’m only on chapter 20, so this ends in a similar way as Usagi Drop? Because if it does then i’m dropping this now. Thanks for the heads up. Wasted my time reading this. Can’t believe this crap.... so done with Japanese authors writing about MC’s raising a child as their own only for the child to become their “lover” later on. Sheesh! Can’t we have a normal and innocent adoptive parent and adopted child relationship without it turning romantic? Damn, I guess that’s too much to ask for.
