It's not really all or nothing and a person should have to go pretty far to warrant some kind of criticism for their past relationships, that or have just been a terrible person to their partners. Seems her boyfriends were the one's who were jerks and doesn't sound like she cheated on them or anything. There really isn't anything worth insulting her about.

It's not really mutually exclusive. You could have low self-esteem and be unusually driven about certain people or things. It's especially true if your going through one of your "self-help" phases. That isn't necessarily when some "guru" is talking in your ear but when you have one of those sudden drives to change yourself or your life and usually only tackle a surface level problem or misinterpret the problem thinking there's something wrong with you for not being happy about something when it's perfectly fine for you to just not be the type that would be happy about it. In the end, you don't really "fix" the "problem" but just learn how it works and how to coup with it, eventually realizing that different cultures tend to put different personalities up on a pedestal while putting others down. Maybe you'll realize that celebrating the constant pursuit of material rewards is just Calvinist philosophy and it isn't weird that it doesn't work on you. Maybe you'll realize that the "introvert-extrovert" ratio is a bit more even and your country just celebrates loud people more. It's that kinda thing.

...what was I talking about? Oh, yeah, it's not necessarily that he's down about everything all the time and needs some external push to do stuff like this. In fact, it might be better to think of someone with low self-esteem as being conflicted rather than pessimistic. He still has hopes, a drive, and affection for her it's just difficult to balance that out with his own negative feelings....or I could just not know what I'm talking about.

For all we know, she could actually still be a virgin, having misunderstood that "sleeping" with someone in the "literal" sense is not the same as "sleeping" with someone in the "biblical" sense.

It's pretty much confirmed that Meguro is a cum-dumpster slut. In almost every chapter, the author reminds us of this fact. In chapter 6, one of the classmates specifically said, that multiple of his friends have already used her as a cum-dump. Honestly, my rating would go up if it were possible for this to all be a misunderstanding and Meguro is just misunderstood. Sadly, it is set in stone that she is used goods.

And I will submit, that I am a little negative with the inferences I get. But with Meguro's personality and everything so far in this story, it's makes sense to think like that.

And after 8 chapters, I find myself asking, was this whole virginity element even needed. Beside the shock value and title name baits, could this same story be told? Would it be worst or better?

I would hope that the story is about a couple developing their relationship with some hardships and baggage, but the author has used the "what if she doesnt like X" event in the last 4 chapters, hopefull he moves on to something fresher.

Obviously it's needed. It's there to further the contrast between those two opposites. The dude is a social recluse with zero experience of anything but solitude. He has no self-confidence. The girl has lots of experience with boys and certain popularity. Her emotionless personality makes self-confidence a no-issue. If her experience wasn't there, it would be a romance between too inexperienced people, which would be something bringing them closer, instead.

@Gimlimn because she admits it herself, in chapter one there is a panel with her and a guy naked about to kiss and right after that she says in her experience after 2 days of dating they would start going to hotels or their house.

But maybe nothing happened or did not happen what had to happen, and since she was not expressive she never did the act itself, and maybe the rest of the rumor that she was no longer a virgin and always let her boyfriends take the decisions for her took her to hotels but nothing happened in herself.
But if that's what you say, how many women of that age are virgins today? only the minority.

I don't know why the comments are full of hate but this is by far the cutest shit i've ever seen in a romance manga. FMC probably is used to being abused in her life she never got a chance to experience vanilla relationship. You don't have to be a prude to feel true love.

While I could understand the hate towards a weak/cowardly MC or Koga, it's nice to see in a while personally. That said, if you prefer outgoing, strong, confident MCs, then this isn't for you. There is also really no reason to berate someone's personality as they grew up in an environment that changed who they are over time. Without taking into consideration of that person's backstory (Koga and people IRL) and just full-on hating him/them because he/they are pessimistic, it makes you no different than the students in Koga's class. There are people I've met in real life that are similar to Koga, but they are good, kind people (maybe not all of them).
Of course, you can disagree with me in many ways, but that's how I see it.
