@zeldashaircut he does want to marry her. he's upset because he misunderstood based on his last conversation with her that she doesn't like him, so naturally doesn't want to marry him. He doesn't feel good about marrying someone against their will and certainly doesn't feel good about his crush not liking him back, so he is sulking in this chapter lol

She literally said she didn't know what the contest was about and she doesn't want to marrry just anyone, but no he had to make it all about how she hates him. I still like them together tho

The implication of her words, even though she didn't intend it as such, is that he is 'just anyone' to her - not special, with no chance of having a place in her heart at all. Had she said it knowing what it meant, it would have been a very backhanded way of indirectly rejecting him
